Have they changed the colour of Smarties?
Jun. 3rd, 2009 08:52 pmOr am I just too used to M&M's? I'm sure they didn't use to be this pastelly...
So this was my day today. I actually had a slow start because I didn't have to go straight into work.
It started with a meeting at school; a general meeting for parents of new children. Liam is starting school next term. It's going to be interesting. The other day he announced to us that he had two brains - a small brain in his willy and a big brain in his head!
From there I came home, had a drink of water and rushed off to catch a bus into town where I met Collette and we went off to inspect a hall for the feast in October. We were looking at the North Adelaide Community Centre Hall. It is a lovely heritage building - possibly a bit on the small side for what we want, but I think Collette was rather taken with its resemblance to the palace of Carlos V. She wanted to build a fountain in the middle. The feast will have a 16th century Spanish theme, so I think it may be time to drag out the Potaje de Cilantro.
Then it was back to the city and into work, grabbing a sandwich before I had a meeting with the promotion round panel - yes they finally got around to it, and no, I did not get the promotion. Which I kind of expected, but was still rather disappointing.
And then I had a meeting with my supervisor to find out what happened in the meeting I missed out on this morning by going to school, and discovered I had been volunteered to write a paper - by Friday - trying to resolve the arguments we have been having for the last four weeks with our collaborators.
It feels like it's been a long day.
