What, no internet?
Sep. 3rd, 2009 09:26 pmBack from Canberra now.
Last time I was there, the hotel where I usually stay (being a convenient 5min walk from the office) had wireless internet. Lovely, free wireless internet. Maybe someone was abusing it, because on Sunday night I turned up and discovered that they no longer have wireless. You still get some free internet, but you have to plug your ethernet cable into the wall to get it. I don't have an ethernet cable (because I have wireless!). No worries, I thought, look, I can borrow one from Reception. Or I could if the American BMX team were not using them all. So I was stuck in Canberra for three days with no internet. I'm glad to say that this did not cause me severe withdrawal. It was just mildly annoying.
I had a good time actually. I caught up with some friends, my course was interesting, and I managed to get some small but useful bits of work done. And I can thoroughly recommend Sanur's if anyone is in the Belconnen area. However, I didn't get much sleep, as I frequently have trouble sleeping in hotel rooms. So I was struggling a bit at work today.
But Ashwyn was really happy to see me this morning, which was nice. Erin and Liam were really happy to see me last night too, but then slighty spoiled the effect by immediately asking for presents.
