My strange strange brain...

I have been feeling exceptionally clever at work this week, and yet today when I was making a banana cake I put in twice as much sugar as I should have, because I thought that three 1/2 cups of sugar would add up to 3/4 of a cup. I can't work out what was going through my head at the time....clearly not very much...
