Tomorrow is Liam's birthday. Yesterday was Ashwyn's birthday. It takes real skill to achieve timing like that (actually it's even more amazing as a random event, given that it took 10 months to conceive Liam, and only one to get Ashwyn (TMI yet?) - even more so when you consider they were due on the 10th and 12th of Feb respectively). Needless to say it is an exciting week in our house....
Just lately Ashwyn has decided that the only spoon with which he is able to eat his breakfast is a 'bone'-handled teaspoon that we have. It came originally from a picnic basket set, and its matching pair has long since disappeared ie it is one of a kind. This means the peacefulness of breakfast completely revolves around having this particular spoon near at hand....
We can only hope that now he is three the terrible twos will be very soon on their way out (oh please please please). I had an absolutely rotten time at the shops with him today as he was refusing to sit in the trolley, and I cannot go to the greengrocer without him in the trolley (unless I hold on to him he will run off, and it's kind of hard to bag apples one handed). So I got to be the embarrassed and harassed parent everyone is looking at and thinking 'well at least my child never behaves like _that_'. I suspect I would have coped rather better with the whole incident if I was not still tired and sick with lingering lurgies....
