This is me on steroids....

The antibiotics seemed to be working very well over the weekend, but then on Monday, not so much. So yesterday it was back to the doctor. Now I am on a double dose of the antibiotics, and also prednisone, a corticosteroid, apparently for anti-inflammatory reasons. This stuff can have some pretty nasty side-effects, but I only need to take it for a few days, so hopefully that will avoid me developing most of those. Nothing so far, except that I felt a bit wired last night, and the broncho-dilatory effects were quite apparent this morning.

Anyway, it looks like I will probably not be going back to work until after Easter. Last year I used up more sick leave than I was actually allocated. Fortunately I have a certain amount stored up, at least partly because I accumulated but didn't use any while on maternity leave. But I was hoping I might get back to actually accumulating it, because there's not an awful lot of reserve there if something serious happens (knock on wood it won't).
