Lots of random things....
Apr. 16th, 2011 09:43 pmCame home from work last night feeling like I was getting bronchitis. Perfect timing, I thought. But I'm feeling better today - not brilliant but better. My supervisor at work has been ill on and off all week and I have been thinking 'go home and don't give me your bugs!'. Also Ashwyn is not well at the moment, which doesn't help. Mostly I think it is just tiredness and stress. I think I mentioned before about this week being fairly quiet, but it seems to have ended up with suddenly really quite a lot of things to be done before I go away. Some of them are not going to get done, which means there will be a lot of things waiting to get done when I get back.
Am very much looking forward to getting to festival (not so much to the travel - long road trips tend to give me migraines). I have now bought Erin a straw hat and a pair of gumboots thereby hopefully catering to all extremes of weather (or just making her look like a country bumpkin). Some of her garb is even hemmed. Tomorrow I will be making some bizcocho and gingerbread to take with us.
The garden has decided it is Autumn. All the deciduous fruit trees are now shedding their leaves, although the apple tree is a little shy. However for some reason one of the strawberry plants has decided to flower again, and is now covered in strawberries. The capsicums are also doing splendidly at the moment as well, after a rather slow summer, which is funny because I would have thought they'd prefer the heat. At the moment there are onions, carrots, spinach, cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts and peas all starting to come up. And it's back to war between me and the snails again.
I want to know where this woman on the telly got her John Lennon style specs. I have been looking for some for ages since my little round wire rimmed sunglasses finally bit the dust (which is too say, were pulled to pieces by a baby). All you seem to be able to get at the moment are giant Paris Hilton sunnies that make you look like a bee, or those little narrow rectangular ones that are so fashionable atm, but which don't suit me at all.
Sam the fish is still alive. I keep having to resist the urge to call him Sam the Samurai, because he is Siamese, not a Samurai.
And I just upgraded to IE9 and I can't work out where all my bookmarks have gone.
