Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa...

Yes, it's been a while. I have been meaning to post for a while about the garden, the long saga of the dodgy builders, and the general craziness of my life lately, but you know...craziness.

So you will have to put up with a quick note from the airport complaining about how busy I am instead. This is my fourth work trip to Canberra in the last two months, and I am heading there again next week. Then I get one normal week in office and I am off for Christmas. The time I haven't been interstate I have been madly doing other things. My supervisor disappeared unexpectedly at short notice in early October (well, he had to go and have surgery, anyway) so I got to do his job for three weeks, for one thing.

We aren't going to Queensland for Christmas this year, but we are going to the South East for a week beforehand, and then we will be hosting Andy's family for Christmas dinner at home. We get back from the week away on Christmas Eve, and we are still trying to get our heads around the logistics of how that is going to work...

Also troubling my conscience is that I have agreed to be head cook for the baronial 30th anniversary celebrations next year. This will not be until June at least, but it pays to begin planning for these large events well in advance.

I managed to acquire a mild ear infection in Canberra last week, which is always a delight when getting on planes. And Ashwyn is sick too, with something that can't seem to make up its mind between tonsillitis and bronchitis. Despite this (and all the rushing about) I managed to have a pleasant birthday yesterday.

And now I have to go get on a plane...
