Fridgorcism

Today I conducted what is becoming a biannual fridgorcism. Which is to say I emptied out the fridge, cleaned all the shelves, and threw out all the stuff that was over its due date, or just getting a bit wierd. It was all surprisingly tame actually, mostly I suspect because I had to throw a few things out last week to make space for feast stuff, but also usually these days we fill the fridge pretty full every weekend, so there's not much space for stuff to linger.
This fridge has done us good service actually. We bought it just before we got married. The people we were living with moved out and since they were the possessors of the house fridge we found ourselves fridgeless. Fortunately we found a fridge sale, and I sent Andy out to buy a fridge. I can't remember now why I didn't go with him, but when the fridge turned up I discovered he'd done the blokey thing and bought the biggest, chunkiest fridge there was (he did the same thing when he bought the pram). For the next few years we struggled with fitting our enormous chunky fridge into all the different places we lived, but these days it is quite an asset (and this house quite fortuitously has an extra large fridge space).
Also today Ashwyn pulled the space bar off my laptop. It has not gone back on quite the same. :-(
The melon seedlings I planted did not survive the cold wet weather we had last week, and the basil is struggling, but everything else is doing fairly well. The coriander has gone mad.
