I had a good time at GSG. I learnt how to make needlelace, and play Backgammon (somehow I have managed to pass my life without picking up this vital skill). Cooking went well, and the only downside was a complete lack of sleep the first night there, and the fact that I left my recipe folder onsite by accident.
And then we had quite a lovely holiday in the Riverland. We all and my parents had a couple of cabins in a caravan park which was right on the banks of the Murray, but also had a swimming pool, a couple of playgrounds and a giant trampoline. So there was lots to do, but it was also so nice just to sit on the deck with a cup of tea and a book admiring the view.

My father brought his canoe, but unfortunately he was suffering with a bad back and didn’t get out on the water as much as he would have liked. He did manage to go out once with Erin:
Here’s an attempt at a sunset picture, which I think just proves what a terrible photographer I am.
Finally, on the way home we stopped at Monash, which was a little two shop town (well technically there may have been three) that had the most astonishing adventure park. It was deserted when we turned up (just after opening) but within an hour it was swarming with families.
