I have not been making jewellery as madly lately – since the weather has been mostly nice I have been trying to get some gardening in on the weekends – but I still have some pics of stuff to post. Find them below the cut.
I had hoped to make this necklace longer, but I seem to have underestimated the length I would get, given the number of beads I had. I still have quite a few of the yellow beads left. Maybe I’ll make a matching bracelet.
It was quite fiddly as there are actually three strands that go through the yellow beads together, but have the black seed beads strung separately on them. Doing this made me think I need to get some beading needles.
Blue elephant bookmark will remember what page you were on…
I don’t know why I decided to photograph this one on Liam’s maths homework…
This is actually a single length not joined together into a loop, so that it can be wound around and knotted together in any way one desires. It’s made from amethyst and fluorite. A close up of the beads:
Finally this is the first period piece I have made. It is an attempt at a 15th century rosary (they were often wore as jewellery or decoration). This one is made from silk, pumice stone, and pewter metal beads. The tassel is hand made.
