Not so much pictures of the garden, as pictures of things from the garden.
Cherries!
It doesn’t look like a lot in this picture, but there’s about a kilogram of them, and they are currently soaking in syrup in preparation for becoming brandied cherries. Yum!
Blueberries!
We have been getting a handful of blueberries like this every week for about four or five weeks now, and there are still loads ripening.
Peas and beans!
The tomato tent
We got this plant tent to keep blueberries and strawberries out of the reach of the birds, however we put tomato seedlings in here and they seem to be flourishing. I think the mesh helps to keep moisture in, making it a bit humid, which tomatoes like. It also provides a little bit of shade (tomatoes like it warm, but direct sun can scorch them) but lets the rain and wind (for pollination) through.
Here you can just see both tomatoes and blueberries:
The tomatoes are doing so well in the tent, we had to take the strawberries out because they weren’t getting enough sun.
This strawberry is trying to grow another strawberry in the concrete. Good luck with that, strawberry.
The long stringy thing is a runner – these are, in fact, the principal reproduction method of strawberries now (the seeds, which are the little lumps on the outside of strawberries, tend to get consumed). You can just see the new strawberry plant beginning to sprout on the end of the runner. If this was in soil it would grow into a new strawberry (it may yet, if I put a plant pot full of soil underneath it).
And finally, apples:
