A busy weekend

We've had rather a busy weekend, which has been a pleasant contrast to last weekend, which I spent in bed with a horrible throat infection.
In addition to the usual washing, shopping and baking that our weekends entail we managed to squeeze in a trip to the science expo thingy at Wayville, a library visit, a spot of gardening, and a lot of cooking.
The science expo was pretty cool actually. Neither Liam nor Ashwyn wanted to go, but we made an executive decision and went all together, and they ended up having a pretty good time. It helped that the Dalek Builders Union was there:

I recently got Andy a Maggie Beer cookbook, so we made a couple of things out of that - lemon posset and a pile of pork and fruit pasties. The latter was a very mediaeval-esque recipe actually: pork mixed with dried fruit, spices and verjuice. Very nice.
The garden is coming along very nicely. I am waiting a couple of days for the freesias to flower before I take pictures, but the heart's ease and anenomes are flowering already, and there are bulbs coming up all over the place.
In the meantime, I have been crocheting madly lately. Here are some pics.
