We had our monthly forward work planning meeting at work today, at which I attempted to cram five weeks of work plus five days in Canberra into the month of September *sigh* and somewhere in the middle of this I have to organise a feast cooking too. And I may be whizzing off to Canberra again the day after the feast.
Ah fun. But I am looking forward to going to Canberra and getting away from the kids for a bit. I love my kids. But this morning I had to break up a fight between Erin and Liam, clean two bowls of breakfast cereal off the floor, and have a wrestling match with a screaming toddler who refused to take off his urine soaked pajamas. And all this before I could sit down and have any breakfast. So a couple of mornings where I can just get up, do some yoga, eat my breakfast without being interrupted by demands for juice, or toast, or tantrums, and go to work sound like paradise to me. Then there's the two hours after dinner I normally spend chasing naked children round the house, wrestling the screaming toddler back into his pajamas and listening to readers that I get to have to myself. *dribble* Of course, this does mean that poor old Andy gets to do all this by himself. He's not looking forward to it.
Anyway, I am off for the first part of the five days (they are not all in a single lump, luckily for the sanity of Andy) on Sunday night.
Oh, and Liam is spotty now too. We're fairly sure he and Ashwyn have slap cheek (also called fifth disease). Erin does not seem to have it, but she may just not have got the spots, as they tend to only show up on young children. Same for me and Andy. We finally sent Erin back to school on Tuesday. She is still coughing quite a lot, but not so much through the nights. She is still not 100% though as she gets quite tired and emotional in the evenings.
Liam is back to full days at school this week (despite the spots). He seems to be coping ok. In fact he got a yard award for behaving well in the playground the other day.
