Stupid stupid stupid....
Jun. 30th, 2009 09:01 pmI am, that is. Mostly for thinking that I hadn't really done my ankle much damage on Sunday so I could wear heels to work yesterday. And between that, pushing it a bit with the standing poses in yoga and stepping in another bloody hole (I swear that I am being stalked by potholes) on the way home (in said heels) I woke up with a sore ankle this morning. So it's back in the compression bandage for me, which means now I have a sore ankle and cold toes because I cannot fit my socks over the top. *grumble* And no more heels for a couple of weeks I think.
In other news I am finally joining the 21st century and getting a mobile phone. I have never really had one until now (apart from a couple of brief aberrations - and as phones go they were pretty aberrant - if that is even a word). But Andy has had one for a while, and I have been finding his increasingly handy, so I have decided to take the plunge, and gain the ability to irritate people on the bus with bizarre ringtones. I think the reason I have not had one for so long is partly because I am usually either at work or home and therefore easily accessible by landline anyway (sad as that may be); and partly because I was at the prime age for taking up technologies when the mobile phone was at its low point in the hype cycle. To have a mobile phone was to be a bit of a tool, and there were many jokes about people talking to each other on their mobiles only to discover they were sitting next to each other at the bar and so on. And then mobile phones were a teenager thing, and I was most definitely not a teenager. Anyway, I think that phones have now reached the stage where they are useful for far more than just ringing people, so perhaps this is why my attitude towards them has changed a bit. But I still don't really get text messages.
We ordered the phone online, and now I am suffering the agony of all online purchases, which is feeling like I have bought the damn thing but do not actually have it. I want my phone!
