You know you've acclimatised when...
Jul. 10th, 2009 02:16 pm...4C feels that cold. You wouldn't think I used to live in places where it regularly snowed in winter. And this has been a fairly mild winter on account of us having so much rain (ie a normal amount). Still, give me winter over summer any day. But autumn above all others.
This morning someone started operating a woodchipper outside our house at 7:30am. Well, technically it was outside next door. But it was still a bloody horrible noise to hear at that hour. Usually I would be well awake by then, but I have a cold and wasn't planning on going to work, and since it's also school holidays I was actually still in bed. They are clearing out and fixing up next door (did I mention that Them Next Door havemoved out?), so perhaps someone is going to move in.
I am currently fiddling about with my phone trying to work out if I can get Nomad on it without actually having internet access. The chances are not looking good.
My mother is coming tomorrow, to stay for a week and help keep Andy sane during the school holidays. I decided to take a couple of days off too, because I haven't had much time off lately (or at least I hadn't before yesterday), and things are not too hectic at work atm. Also I had my iron levels tested again yesterday, so will get the results of this next week. I expect they will be back to normal, but then it is a matter of how long they stay that way.
