The ant bite strikes back...maybe...

So you might remember me making a passing reference to an inch ant bite a while ago. The thing hurt like buggery (done improperly one presumes) for about half an hour, then seemed to subside. My hand (the bite was on the side of my left hand just below the pinkie) was a little swollen and tender the next day, but after that, it seemed fine. That seemed pretty much in keeping with my experience of being bitten by smaller ants, so all well and good.
But then at the beginning of this week I noticed my hand had a little lump on it which was extremely itchy when it got bumped or pressed (eg when I took my bracelets off). 'How unusual to get a mosquito bite in almost exactly the same place I got bitten by that ant' I thought. But the lump just kept getting bigger and bigger, and I thought maybe it was a pimple or a wart except that they are not usually so excruciatingly itchy, and now the whole side of my hand is red and swollen up. It seems to have stabilised for now, but it's not getting any better. It seems like too much of a coincidence that this is in the same place as the ant bite, but it doesn't really seem like an infection, and the week between the bite and anything actually happening is a bit peculiar too.
