How does my garden grow?

The spuds I planted are going berserk. The beans are doing rather less well, which is surprising for beans, but something seems to be nibbling them. Not snails. I also think I may have messed up my companion planting, as I planted tomatoes in with peas and beans, thinking the nitrogen would help them, but apparently this is a no no for tomatoes. Oh well. Also the corn I planted was taking so long to come up that I planted more tomatoes, capsicum and beans in the same plot, and now of course the corn is coming up. And I had some very nice broccoli seedlings, except Andy forgot to water them, and they died.
It looks like we will have loads of plums this year, maybe not so many cherries. The apple tree is only just starting to blossom, and the dead stick (aka the grape vine), well see for yourself
Actually I took this about two weeks ago, there are a lot more leaves now, and even the beginnings of flowers.
Today I made beetroot relish. The kitchen looked like a slaughterhouse, and my hands are still pink. But it was pretty yummy. I got a whole packet of baby beets from the greengrocer for $1, which was nice, but the beetroot I planted last autumn is finally nearly ready to pick, so it’s good to have some things to do with it.
It was also irreparable’s birthday yesterday and she is requesting photos of people wearing hats. I’m not much of a one for hats, mundanely, so here is a picture of my hair:
Of course I have many silly period hats:
